    Chapter 11

    The Loop in Practice

How Coaching Actually Works Over Time

By this point, the framework is fully built. There is a global objective. There is an active milestone. There are committed actions, deadlines, and tracking. Now coaching changes. This is where most coaches unintentionally break continuity.

    The Loop, Step by Step

Every coaching interaction inside the loop follows the same structure. Always.

    • What has been completed? Facts only. No interpretation.
    • What has not been completed? Again, facts only.
    • What didn't work, and why? Execution issues, strategy issues, timing issues. No judgement.
    • What did work, and why? Even small wins matter. Especially small wins.
    • What will you do next? One next action. Clear and executable.
    • How will you do it? Only if something is unclear.
    • When will it be done? A real deadline.
    • How will it be tracked? Simple and visible.

    Then the loop repeats.

    Why the Loop Never Changes

The power of the loop comes from repetition. Clients learn what is expected. Coaches stop improvising. Progress becomes predictable.

Changing the loop breaks momentum. Even when sessions feel repetitive, the work is not. The business is changing underneath the same structure.

What the Coach Does Inside the Loop

Inside the loop, the coach does not:

    • Add new ideas unnecessarily
    • Reopen previous decisions
    • Chase unrelated problems
    • Reset the objective

    The coach does:

    • Hold the structure
    • Keep the milestone visible
    • Prevent avoidance
    • Prevent overcomplication

The loop does the work. The coach protects it.

    When the Loop Feels "Stuck"

Sometimes the loop slows. This is not failure. It is information. When progress stalls, the coach does not panic or escalate. They simply look at where the breakdown occurred:

    • Was the next action too large?
    • Was the deadline unrealistic?
    • Was tracking missing or ignored?
    • Was the strategy flawed?

Then the loop continues with adjustments. No reset is required.

    The Loop Is the Product

The loop is not a technique. It is not a tool. It is not a script. It is the product.

When the loop is held consistently, coaching becomes long-term without stagnation, structured without rigidity, and supportive without dependency.
